Board of Directors' Membership Community-based Nonprofit

Dear Potential Board Member:

On behalf of the Board of Directors of POWERLESS TO PURPOSE, extends an invitation to join the board for a one-year term. Please if interested let us know days and times that will work for you, this way it's easier for our staff to coordinate a day that we know will work for most of you that want to be a part of this amazing organization!

POWERLESS TO PURPOSE is in its third year and has applied for a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit status, whose mission is to educate and prevent individuals about alcohol/drug abuse, as well as offer them support such as treatment, sponsors, etc. Much of what POWERLESS TO PURPOSE does is through information and education, thereby encouraging higher quality of education and prevention standards. Core services include presentations, education, and community awareness. Allowing other individuals to share their story of addiction/recovery is also another opportunity POWERLESS TO PURPOSE offers people. Consistent with its vision, "To help, heal, and hope for change", POWERLESS TO PURPOSE, through its work in schools, recovery centers, churches, and colleges is striving to identify best practices for managing those effected by addiction/recovery. Our organization postulates that the prevalence of addiction in the Central Minnesota communities as well as other communities throughout the country can be reduced with education and prevention.

Duties and responsibilities of POWERLESS TO PURPOSE board members are the following:

  • Ensure sound planning and policy.
